Well, it has been a while since I last posted. We were very busy with all those Girl Scout cookies! Between the two girls, by the time it was all said and done, they sold over 700 boxes of cookies! Whew! We had cookies stacked up in our living room and it took all four of us, working nearly every day for 2 weeks, to get them delivered. I can hardly wait to see how many they sell next year. (Note the sarcasm.)
We also had birthdays to celebrate in there. Both girls have their birthdays in February and this year's theme was "Tea Party." Each girl had a separate party with just a few of their closest friends. They played typical party games, but with a twist: Pin the Handle on the Teapot, Musical Teapots, and Charades. We also had real tea, with cream and sugar cubes, butter sandwiches, cheese cubes, shortbread cookies, cream puffs and mini muffins, all served on real china. Of course, that isn't even counting the cake and ice cream that came later. Anna also incorporated a dress-up party with fashion show. It was great fun to see the outfits that each girl had. It was a lot of fun for everyone.
Anna was in a dance class for a couple of weeks. It is called "Jazz for Jesus." The teacher is a Christian lady who wanted to give girls an alternative to typical dance classes. These girls only dance to Christian music and their costumes consist of black pants, black long sleeved shirt and white gloves. No skimpy costumes or provocative moves. I was very impressed with it all and Anna just loved it. Emily wanted to do it, too. We are sitting out of the current session--you just can't do everything--but hopefully, the girls will get an opportunity to do it in the future.
Emily just started volleyball with a homeschool group called the Arrows. She just loved volleyball when she played in the fall, so I thought this would be a good opportunity for her to polish up some skills. It is non-competitive, so she is able to learn without too much pressure. So far, she is having a blast.
My life is kept busy just running girls around and doing stuff for my Girl Scout troop. I am looking forward to the end of the year so that I can have a break from that. I haven't even had time for my scrapbooking lately, and I really miss that. It is such a release to just sit back and do something I enjoy. Oh well, guess I will have time sometime.
