Well, I have been away for awhile. Much has been happening since I last posted in March. I celebrated my 40th birthday. My friend, Denise, came for a visit. While she was here, we attended a Josh Groban concert. Man, that guy can sing!!! We also did some stuff around town and just caught up. It was a fun time, that was much too short. Then came Mother's Day, followed by Father's Day. In June, both girls had Girl Scout camp (paid for by all those cookies that they sold!). Emily spent a week at Cowtown, which she loved. She took on the persona of an 1870's girl and learned all about life during that time period. Anna and I went to traditional day camp. It was a fun week. Many of the girls in her troop were there and they had a good time hanging out together.
All this time we have been planning on taking a mission trip to Guyana. We sent out letters asking for support, and received a wonderful response. We were able to pay for our entire trip. Friends, family, and fellow church members also gave us a lot of moral support for the trip. In Guyana, we will be joining a team of medical workers and others. We will provide medical and dental care, as well as Bible studies to those who are interested. It will be quite an experience for all of us, as Guyana is a very poor country. The girls will see firsthand how many people of the world live and get by on very little. It will also provide them with an opportunity to serve others. We are very excited about the trip. I promise to post more after our return.
