I sympathize with single parents. I don't know how they do it. My husband is out of town this week, so I am left to handle the kids on my own. It's not that I am not able to do this. It is just so much more convenient when there is someone else here. I am doing all the driving the kids to their activities, all the household chores. Now, one of my kids is sick. I need to go to the grocery store, Christmas shopping, and various other errands. But how do you do that with a sick kid? Basically, you don't. You stay home and make do until they get well. All those things will wait and you just stay home and love and comfort your child. In a few days, maybe even tomorrow if we are lucky, she will be feeling better and then we will take care of all those errands. And then, life will be back to normal.
