Vacation--Day 7--A Day of Rest

After 6 straight days of amusement parks, we were very tired. We ended up sleeping very late and then had brunch at a Bob Evans restaurant. We piddled around for awhile and then decided to go to a beach. We had thought about going over toward Cape Canaveral, but several "locals" advised us that the surf on the Atlantic side of the peninsula is extremely rough and dangerous. So, we decided to head over to Clearwater Beach. It was about twice as far, but we thought the girls would be better able to enjoy the ocean. The drive itself wasn't too bad, although the scenery left a lot to be desired. However, once we got to Clearwater, we hit some major traffic. Evidently, there is only one road to the beach and I think everyone on the west coast of Florida decided to go there that day. We were stuck in traffic for 2 hours! We finally got to the beach and we all had a great time. I took some great pictures of the girls playing in the water, but I have chosen not to post them online. We stayed til sunset and then headed back to Orlando. It was a peaceful, relaxing day (well, aside from the traffic jam), which we really needed after the amusement parks.
