Wonderful, wonderful day
Today was a great day for our family. I can't begin to describe the joy and pride that we are feeling. See, we had a new birth in our family. Emily was baptized into Christ and we are so thrilled about her decision. She has been thinking about this for some time, as well as talking to us about it. She has spent time reading her Bible, studying New Testament examples of baptism. She attended two different church camps this summer and came home with more questions and answers. There is no doubt that she understands the importance of this decision and the fact that she is making a life-long commitment to God. I find her to be amazingly mature spiritually--much more so than I was at her age. And so, we rejoice, along with the angels in heaven, that our child is now a child of the King. Hallelujah!!!
"Don't you know that all of us who were baptized int Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."
Romans 6:3-4
