Shopping
I took the girls shopping last night. They both needed new winter coats and new church shoes. No hand-me-downs available for Anna this year. Well, not in coats and shoes, anyway. She is just in a different growth pattern than her sister was. Anyway, we went to Kohl's to look for coats, since they had a sale going on. We didn't find anything that excited us very much. We looked at shoes there, also, but we have never found anything there. Then it was on to TJ Maxx. My sister-in-law had told me that she had found shoes there before. No shoes, but we hit the jackpot on coats! I found coats for both of the girls and paid less than I would have for one coat at Kohl's! Yay!!! Next door to Famous Footwear. We had been there a few weeks ago but hadn't found anything. Not so this time. We found each of them a pair of nice, low-heeled black dress shoes. I am so happy!
I used to love to shop when I was younger. I could spend hours traipsing through the mall, ducking in and out of stores, trying on all kinds of cute things. But since I've had kids, I just don't get the same thrill. Not that I mind buying cute clothes for the girls. It's just that it all takes so much TIME! It is time that I could be spending doing other important things...you know, things like laundry, dishes, ironing.... Not that those things are fun, but they do seem to be more urgent (well, I guess getting winter coats is pretty urgent since it is November). But you know what I mean. Now, shopping is just one more chore to be done. Ah well, things change in life, don't they?

It's ok to take time off and go shopping for yourself, ya know. ;)
I agree, the whole shopping experience is just not the same anymore. ;(
But at least you got a good deal on the coats. I would be doing a happy dance right along with you!
