Last day of vacation

You would think that five days at Disney would have satisfied our interest, but apparently not. On our last day, since Emily and Brian had to be at the airport mid-afternoon, we decided to go to Downtown Disney, which is a shopping and entertainment area. When we first arrived, we went to World of Disney--a gigantic store with every imaginable kind of Disney merchandise. It is actually a bit overwhelming. We looked around for quite a while and had a lot of fun trying on different crazy hats that were for sale. We even took quite a few pictures. We wandered over to the Lego Imagination Center and marveled at the large and complex Lego structures. For lunch, we went over to the Rainforest Cafe, where we met up with Brian's brother and his family. They happened to overlap their vacation with ours, so we thought it would be fun to meet up with each other. We had an enjoyable and entertaining meal. Rainforest Cafe is one of those theme restaurants, and you pay more for the atmosphere, than for the food. But, it was neat and we can now say we've been there. After lunch, we wandered around for a bit more. The girls and my nephews enjoyed the Once Upon a Toy store. They were able to put together a Mr. Potato Head from dozens of different pieces. We could have purchased the finished product, but we just took a picture instead. We also went to the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain (yum!) and then it was time to take Emily and Brian to the airport. We almost didn't get them there in time because we missed the exit from the highway. But they made it, and Anna and I went to get some supper and then back to the hotel for a swim. It was "early to bed" for both of us since our flight was at 8 in the morning and we had to return the rental car. We made it in plenty of time, only to have to wait until almost 9 to take off because of heavy rain. Anyway, it was a very fun vacation, full of wonderful memories.
